Tailored Training Program

Empower startups with collaborative goal-setting and strategic milestones. Work closely with business development experts to set clear objectives and measurable results for six months. Break down long-term goals into achievable milestones, ensuring continuous performance evaluation for adaptive strategies.

Mentorship

Enrich startup knowledge through engaging bootcamps, tailored training, and resourceful mentoring. Interactive learning provides practical knowledge, while mentor-led training addresses identified gaps. Leverage expert knowledge for diverse skills, encouraging peer learning in a collaborative environment.

Seed Funding

Offer holistic support with tailored assistance for third-party sellers, seed funding for financial sustainability, and networking exposure. Customize support for third-party sellers, ensuring seamless integration. Seed funding promotes growth at various stages, while networking events, social media promotion, and expert mentorship enhance visibility and collaboration. Access to a collaborative workspace fosters creativity and productivity.

Requirements

Participation to the Incubation program is free and open to early-stage startups in Ethiopia focusing on e-commerce products/services that address real-life problems. Eligible applicants must be registered, provide legal documents, and meet the following criteria:

Resides in Ethiopia

Founders aged 18 to 35
Minimum team size of two
Documentation of the idea on a Business Model Canvas (BMC) or a business plan
Presence of an e-commerce product or service in the market, without the necessity of a business license
Identification, selection, and adoption of appropriate technology showcasing technical feasibility
Demonstration of the business’s growth potential with a revenue stream for scalability and sustainability
Commitment to creating job opportunities, aiming for at least 18 jobs annually, possibly through third-party marketplaces

The program encourages female entrepreneurs, women-led businesses, and individuals facing challenges such as disabilities, internal displacement, and refugees to participate.

Eligibility considerations are not exhaustive and account for factors relevant to the applicant.

What is the Venture Meda program?

Venture Meda is a five-year program designed to foster job creation by empowering early-stage e-commerce startups through incubation and acceleration. Its services encompass technical advisory from industry leaders, boot camps, market identification, connections with tech partners and investors, and seed funding.

The meaning of Venure Meda is “a space Where E-Commerce ventures are built”. Venture Meda is an  arena/ space/ platform/playground for young and vibrant Startups owners that are expected to grow and succeed in the digital economy.  Meda/ playground is a common place where the youth come together to learn, share, interact, and grow together. 

Participation to the acceleration program is free and available to teams or companies in Ethiopia offering e-commerce products/services that address real-life problems. Eligible applicants must be registered, provide legal documents, and meet the following criteria:

 

  1. Reside in Ethiopia.
  2. Founders aged 18 to 35.
  3. Minimum team size of two.
  4. Six months of post-revenue generation, with profitability sustained for at least three months.
  5. Presence of an e-commerce product or service in the market.
  6. Adoption of suitable technology demonstrating technical feasibility.
  7. Demonstrated growth potential with a revenue stream for scalability and sustainability.
  8. Commitment to creating job opportunities, aiming for at least 18 jobs annually.
